In the frame of “Athens 2018 World Book Capital” the Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology supports science books and hosts the 25th Summer School – Conference “Dynamic Systems and Complexity” of the IIT Demokritos, the team THALES + FRIENDS and Patakis Publications at the event «Approaching Chaos and Complexity in Athens”
Over the last years a revolution has been developed in the world of Science affecting almost all of its fields. It is a revolution that can now be distinguished everywhere: in the nature (from the galaxies to the molecules and the atoms), in the everyday life, the structuring of our societies, the economic crises, the structuring of the network, and the evolution of the ecosystems. We can discover everywhere the hidden secret of complexity: all units collaborate in order to provide to the whole a form and dynamic stronger than their addition. A form full of surprises and new information.
Writer and mathematician Teukros Michaelides and professor Tasos Bountis, who works on the field of chaos and fractal since the time of his PhD on the theory of Physics in the University of Rochester USA, will introduce us to the world and the secrets of complexity and chaotic phenomena through their book “Approaching Chaos and Complexity in Athens” (Patakis publications)
The lecturers will present the main characteristics of the Science of Complexity and Chaos and to explain how they can affect our everyday life
