It was an ancient tool for the cultivation of land that continued almost identically to be used until recently. It consisted of the metal ploughshare, the heavy oak share-beam, the handle which was held by the ploughman, the curved plough-tail and the long pole that had the yoke which was tied to the animals of tillage. In the “light” plough the share-beam, the plough-tail and the pole were of the same piece of timer.
